Eddy Alfonso Rogers
Founder & Head Instructor
Eddy Alfonso was born and raised in Havana, Cuba, where dance isn't just a hobby but a way of life. Before coming to the Netherlands, he taught salsa in Havana and led the Rueda de Casino group 'Casino Mix', performing regularly on Cuban television.
His passion for music and close ties with Cuba keep him on the cutting edge of the salsa scene. Besides being an amazing dance teacher, he's also a popular DJ under the stage name DJ El Mulato, firing up local and international parties with the best rhythms. His motto: bailar para gozar!
“Dance is the shortest path between two people. On the dance floor, it doesn't matter where you come from, only that you move.”
Why we do what we do
We teach the original Cuban style, straight from the streets of Havana. No watered-down version, but real salsa with all its energy and expression.
At Cubania, you're more than a student. You become part of a close-knit community of dance lovers who grow, laugh and enjoy together.
Salsa is more than just steps. We share the music, history and culture behind every movement.

Eddy Alfonso founds Cubania in Den Bosch. With a small group of students and a big dream: bringing authentic Cuban salsa to the Netherlands.
Cubania grows to over 100 regular students. We organize our first Salsa Matinee and become known throughout the region. The monthly parties become a staple.
We open a second location in The Hague to reach the Randstad. Two cities, the same Cuban warmth. The first dance trip to Havana is organized.
With hundreds of students, multiple levels, monthly Salsa Matinees, Cubaniando parties and dance trips to Cuba, we've grown into one of the most authentic salsa schools in the Netherlands.
Experience the warmth of Cuba on the dance floor. Everyone is welcome, regardless of experience.
